Gray Whale Gin supported Oceana's efforts in raising $1 million dollars to transition California’s deadly drift gillnet fishing to ensure use of cleaner fishing gear. Mile-long drift gillnets are used to catch swordfish off the coasts of California and Oregon. These nets entangle, injure, and kill more than 60 other marine species, including the California gray whale, dolphins, sea turtles, seals, sharks, and sea turtles.
